Dear all, come participate in this week's Print Conference held at The Substation, 12 to 4pm.

What is it all about?
The Print Conference is a symposium/workshop/exhibition highlighting the use and self-empowering existence of independent press and print. It will be done under the upcoming label Prohibited Projects. The objective of this event is to promote 'underground and raw' art practices to the general public, to outline the fact that we do not need 'approval' and the censorship-infested practices of corporate culture to express ourselves and (sadly!) to remind the punk community that its aesthetics lie beyond just the music.

It will be 4 hours long and consist of
- an extensive exhibition of zines and diy printed t-shirts and patches, as well as music releases that have diy home-printed inserts.
- it will include talks by zinesters
- it will include short demonstrations by the silkscreen artists.
- it will also POSSIBLY include a video of MARJINAL - On De Giks (Indonesian punk band who are also active anarchists/artists) and maybe also random silkscreen demonstrations.

These zinesters have already confirmed their participation to speak as well as to promote their zines, as well as other zines of their choice.
Shaiful (ex Zerox)
Seelan (Crooked zine),
Jason Lee (Awareness zine)
Trent (These words could kill)
Ed (Lucidity zine, www.zinetrade.net, Ireland)

* Syikin (ex-Specific Heat zine)
Peishan (Red Letter Day zine)
Ginette (ex-Cherrybomb Press, Outcast zines)
Melissa (ex Voice Of The Fist, Zonk zines)
Lynette (There Are Not Enough Hours In A Day For All The Bitching I Have To Do zine)
Ato (Never Say Die newsletter)
Rahmat (Vampyric Emotions newsletter)

***

Silkscreen artists are also doing ongoing demonstrations of their artwork. So far these artists have agreed to be part of this, in one way or another

* Apis (Shak Tii band)
Dyn (My Precious band)
Hasib (Topsy Turvy, Azadghei Records)
members of the Thrash Steady Syndicate Recs/Distro

Should this be a success, consequent Print Conferences could have themes and so on and so forth. This is also a punkrock exhibition first and foremost, its just like a gig, but instead of bands we have zinesters, artists and distro folk! Fuck formalities!
