Firewire Audio Interface.

Hi fellow SOFTies.


I'm stuck while choosing a Audio Interface.

I've initially chosen the Focusrite Saffire Pro 40. But after must research, found out that there were some problems. So I looked up MOTU.

And found afew nice ones.


Anybody has any audio interfaces to recommend?
8 inputs at least.

Few questions:

1. Notebook or Desktop?
2. Mac or PC? If PC - Vista or XP?
3. Mainly for recording or sequencing or live playing?
4. If recording, what are you recording?

Mac OSX
Recording
Drums, guitars, bass, keys/synths and vocals. (multi-tracked)

Presonus FP10. Stable firmware with solid ASIO drivers.

google the interfaces you're interested in and you should be able to find a blind test for some of em. take a listen and see which ones you like best. personally the presonus fp10 does an ok job.......but i don't really feel its got very good ad converters. focusrite does a better job there.

you can consider the echo audiofire series as well. or if you don't have a budget....apogee. lol

Budget is probably ard 1k+
