whats the use of hearing local band that sounds totally foreign, and why are this local band try to sound like foreign. why dont those foreign try to sound like the locals?

sory,... its freddie aguilar,...not krugar from nightmare on elm street,...ahhahahahahhaha!!!

yeah,....they got international appeal,. but most of the filipino bands try to emulate or copy foriegn bands or groups,... only few have their own style.

but we are good,..!!!! heheheh,...
music is in our blood,....
9 out of 10 filipino knows how to play a musical instrument,.
9 out of 10 filipino knows how to sing,...
9 out of 10 filipino has/had/have a band and drinks a lot,...
and 9 out of 10 of flipinos are broke,.hehehe,..

i am reminded though of the proverbial lyrics : Ground Control to Major Tom. Hallo?! kong simi?! asians rule!!

on a serious note. bamboo is one of the nicest bands to work with! so down to earth those guys. not to mention the drummer's cymbal rack...drool.
 
Ai yah, it's not just Filipino bands lah... I reckon it's a global thing...

All bands copy/ emulate from each other. Even top selling bands got their breaks by sounding like another top-selling band. Both Colplay and Muse got their record deals cuz their earlier sound or vocal stylings sounded like Radiohead. And both of them has gotten somewhat their own sounds... and are outselling Radiohead now. So really, who cares?

As long as you put up something you are happy with and sounds good...

btw,..the group BAMBOO,.....they got their name from their vocalist.
their vocals, bamboo is previously from RIVERMAYA and RIVERMAYA's current vocalist used to be their guitar,.(i think) cos before it's perfecto.

dun know what happend,... it just break the band,. like a GUNs N' ROses kinda stuff,..... axl rose wants guns n roses so are the instrumentalist,..

I play guitar. I used to play in some roack and roll
bands before I left for Singapore.
