Hola mi mihos! Haha, just thought I'd start a little thread to "bind the community together". Specially after something like Rivermaya, we all should've gone together. My 3 favourite Pinoy Bands:

- Bamboo
- Rivermaya
- Slapshock (classic)

There's more but I haven't heard a lot of their stuff so I'm guessing it'd be unfair for me to mention I like them if I hardly know anything of them =p Well, enjoy! Mabuhay mga Noypi! =p
 
oooo...me not pinoy but me love Wolfgang! and what's the band that did that song Picha Pie? sung to the tune of I Will Survive..
 
AgingYouth: Well I have Bamboo's CD, you could borrow it from me (as I don't have a burner) - OR, I could rip it onto the computer and send copies of the songs to you (ahem). Definitely worth the listen. Rivermaya's ex lead singer is now the lead singer of that group - so it's all talent there ^_^.

GrimBrody: Haha, that group is called Parokya Ni Edgar. They're a hilarious band. If you knew tagalog you'd be laughing at all of their songs - well most of them. And then there's the classic love song they sing ... "Harana" - every Filipino guy knows how to play that one on guitar =p haha. So yes. Go power!

I've never heard of Wolfgang's stuff. Gonna have to litsen to them soon ey, lotsa people have mentioned them on here.

Haha, meron pa atang ibang mga pinoy dito. Ewan ko lang kun cno cno - kaya SHOW YOURSELVES na dyan people! Haha. As of now, hindi pa ko kasali sa banda .. pero we're in the process of making one. Pero nagtutugtug naman ako ng guitar at piano - ikaw? Haha. at 16 f ako. =p Kayo po?

i just heard rivermaya recently n i kinda dig their sound.
any idea where to get their songs/album? i cant seem to find em anywhere..

u wont know their from the philippines by just listening to em,...they sound like foreign gurus,..

im one of the pioneering members of sounds or nativity at AMACC QC. same as those from slapshock,bernardo carpio, painted black and kesong puti.

a good friend of mine jst recommended urbandub, another pinoy band that sounds totally foreign. very good musicianship and songs.

another band to look out for is typecast! someone should bring em here..hehe

pot is the band with the heavily tattooed vocals right?

and oh yeah, bamboo rocked rock d fort in june! hallelujah!

POT is the one with the bestesssstttttttt basisist there is in the phil right now,.. whenever i go watch a gig,. i always request for their song "yugyugan na" but very few can play it as it is quite difficult.

some of the best bands in my own opinion in the phil are:

1.) the DAWN - (syempre naman!)
2.) wolfgang - (walang tinapon na album!)
3.) rizal underground
4.) razorback - (voodoo whoo doooooo---my fave!)
5.) parokya ni edgar - (much much better than eraserheads) sa eraserheads wag kaw wento ng buhay mo,.kundi,.maririnig mo na lang sa radyo!!
6.) rivermaya (the best if si BAMBOO pa din ang vox)
7.) POT - astigg!!!
8.) kamikaze - sayang ka jay,...
and syempre,..... ang walang kamatayang,...
JUAN DELA CRUZ BAND!!!!
 
I hope you guys post in English so that our Singaporean friends can understand. They have much interest in Filipino music its a matter of opening up our doors for them.

well it is because some song titles are in "tagalog". sorry for that,.
anyway, it is good that you also dig filipino music. u can pm me if u need any filipino songs that I might have on my collection,.

thanks to these thread , i started finding songs by Slapshock and co.
they are really nice, IMO much better sounding than Linkin Park lol.
