Here's where the REAL party happens.
The Substation is planning a signature multi-disciplinary event at its
premises.
‘Fight for Your Right (to) Party’ is a re-affirming of The
Substation’s role as a space that promotes, supports and nurtures
cultural and artistic diversity – where people from many different
backgrounds can converge as a community and have a sense of ownership
of a public space.
Activities include a banner painting party, video and photo
installations, soundscape performances, poetry readings, acoustic
gigs, performance readings, expressionist painting and more! All these
activities will be held on the premises of The Substation
There'll be activities throughout every half hour from 2pm - 9pm. A
rough schedule is attached below. More activities will be added as we
come closer to the date.
Programme: ‘Fight for Your Right (to) Party’
(Times are approximate, all activities in The Substation foyer unless
specified, correct at time of sending)
2pm – Banner painting: a banner will be put up – anyone who wants to
add their thoughts to it can do so.
3pm – Raising of Banner + Screening - Urich Lau / Michael Switow,
(after which will be running in the background) @ Foyer whiteboard
4pm – Duologue by Jessica/Olivia Directed by Dew + Soundscape
performance with expressionist painting performance by Vargus Pike +
mei + wyxmm
5pm – Acoustic performance – Etc – Ben Harrison
6pm – Acoustic Performance – Peepshow (tbc)
7pm – Acoustic Performance – Amanda Tee and Pio
8pm – Soundscape – Darren Ng aka Sonicbrat
‘Fight for Your Right (to) Party’ will be followed by two events of
ISEA 2008:
9pm – Official opening of Cloudland – Digital Art from Aotearoa New
Zealand, a partner exhibition of ISEA 2008, The Substation Gallery
10:30pm – Etherradio Live – Sound Art Performance, The Substation Theatre
