fender telecaster

hi can anyone enlighten me between the major differences (like sound or whatever) between MIM and MIA telecasters. more specifically the fender standard tele and fender american standard tele. would it be worth the money to buy an MIM instead of saving up more to get MIA? and anyone knows where i can get a tele thats either candy apple or chrome red finish with maple fingerboard? thanks lots!

i think the general consensus is that mim<mij<mia. but mias are too costly.. but if you really wanna just go for it.

have you checked the buy/sell section yet? always some great deals there.

I'm not quite sure if Davis stocks telecasters, but TYMC has it.

Or you could buy it online.

Last year when I ventured into electric guitar, I told myself I'd save my money for a good Strat. So I bought a cheapo Squier Telecaster standard for about $300 just to test test first. Who knows after a year + my Tele is now with a MIM maple neck, Fender Highway 1 bridge pup & Dimarzio Area T pup and all these for less than a MIM Standard Tele. I loved this guitar so much its my favourite guitar now ( I have another Epi LP ) and it sounds so good for me for the price I've put in. And til today I've no intention to get that Strat.

What I'm trying to say here is, play around with a cheap guitar and upgrade slowly. It may turn out better than what you think. Cheers!

sounds like you've done up your tele pretty good there. i'm just wary of that option cause im not really sure of what i would want to change my hardware to so i'd rather just get a fender with the stocks. i guess, yea.
