$840? 8O ok guess i could forget abt it den, i thought it was only 500-600 :(

I got mine for 500 after sales discount. The price was the listed price i saw on the sticker of my amp so i guess for normal day, you get 20% off from 840. Don't quote me for that tho.

Thats really kind of you riff... I rem I ran my TRI AC thru the Pro Junior in Swee lee last time.. and man... I LOVED IT! The Pro Junior had a distinct effect on the TRI AC's tone... sort of making it more chimey and clearer. However, heh... I didn't consider getting it because the good guys at tech21 recommended against it.

Nothing much actually lah.

I'm not too sure of the tech21 amp but i did compared it to the VOX modeling amp from a good friend of mine. The VOX is very good imo but somehow, tube has it charm there.

Anyhow, the most impt factor for a good tone is the fingers? I am sure with your skill, most amp will sound good. :D

hey man... i didn't use a Tech21 amp, it was a pedal. :) Anyway...

I tried the Tech21 Trademark 10 amp and a Vox Valvetronix amp too... IMO, the Trademark 10 smokes the valvetronix.... Sounds even more tube like in terms of dynamic response to pick attack and so on! Actually, I'm seriously considering a Trademark 10 but because I have a Tri AC, I decided to give it a pass...

Think someone's selling the trademark 10 for 300++ on luther web site..you might want to check it out.

Pier.

If you guys are still interseted with playing the Blues Junior (or any tube amp) at lower volumes, then here is a very simple, inexpensive and safe mod.

Change the preamp 12AX7 tube or tubes with a 7025 tube. Do not change the 12AT7 tubes if there are some in the amp as it does not work with these. The 7025 is a military version of the 12AX7 and has less gain (70 versus 100 for then 12AX7). This means that the amp can now run at setting 4 or 5 with the same volume of the amp on 3 previously. This is done by blues players who want to drive the power tubes harder without getting too high a volume.

If you wan these tubes you cdan get them from Martin Electronics at Burlington Square for about $15 a piece. The tone may change a little, but it's well worth trying.

cheers,

Mark.
