Have you tried recording the midi output into a sequencer software? You could really see your timing visually if you do that.

Hi James!

Okaye I am a sound N.O.O.B. My friend just passed me a mixer. I don't know how to connect it all together. Here are the stuff that I have.

Roland TD15KV
Macbook Pro
Roland CM110 Speakers + Woofer
Yamaha Mixer.

I tried this:

L/Mono of the amplifier to the Mixer's Stereo of L/Mono

then L/Mono and R from the Channel of the Mixer to the Roland TD15KV respectively.

No Sound :/

No idea when my Macbook comes in too... haha. I tried researching on the net but i don't quite understand all these sound stuff. Waiting for my friend to drop by next week to help me out with this.

I am sure if my drums is connect to the mac, the sound quality will be much clearer too.

Yeah i think a midi cable (From TD15KV module) to USB (To Macbook) should do the trick... Waiting for my friend to help me out if i were to use the mixer.

No need midi cable. TD module usb to computer usb for recording audio/midi.

For monitoring setup, you can try the following

TD module Left+Right OUTPUT -> Mixer channel 1 + 2
MacBook audio out -> Mixer channel 3 + 4

Monitor via Headphone out from Mixer.
or
Mixer Left+Right output -> Roland CM110 Speakers + Woofer

I have tried the TD Module USB to computer USB already. Garage band doesn't play the TD15KV module out. It plays the software drum sounds... But I wish to get the TD15KV sound.

For your Monitoring set up, from MacBook to Mixer, what cable must I use?

Acoustic Kits are more real... I had an acoustic kit but it was too loud for HDB. Pros & Cons la...
