Fake epiphone!!

Yesterday,i just bought an EPIPHONE special 2 from this guitar shop at peninsular..i bought if for 200.it seems just not right.it was made in indonesia.but the serial number was imprinted not on the headstock.but on the metal plate joining the neck to the body..im scared that it might be fake.could anyone please help me??.......if it was fake,can i report it to the authorities.?..pls help me...

what model is it? if you're unsure, maybe you can send a mail to epiphone asking about this matter?

i think the serial number is suppose to be printed on the neck plate.standard models and above have their serials at the back of the headstock.

so your guitar isnt a fake.

Yup. I heard of fake Fenders, Gibsons but not fake Epiphones. Get your facts clear before saying that it is fake. You can head down to Swee Lee and have a look at this same model.

whatever price it is... Singapore law doesn't allows fake goods. You can purchase a fake guitar from your friend or online pals but not officially from a dealer or 2nd hand shop.
Report is allowed and the 'brand protecting' authority will take action.

It's not on the price or the quality. It is to protect our country.
Unless you guys want singapore to be a place full of fake brands.

btw,the epiphone logo on the headstock doesnt have a pearly finish..it just looks dull..if im not wrong every epiphone logo on the guitar should have a pearly effect.am i rite or wrong?..

tanx for the fast replys..its just that im unsure..bcoz of the epiphone non-pearly effect on the headstock and the serial numbers..i did a little research.theres epiphones factories in indonesia.but if it was made there,it would have the serial starting from SI..mine are all just numbers.10 numbers to be exact.0806237367..if anyone have an epiphone les paul special 2,or u noe more bout this stuff,do reply back.tanx for all the replies mate.

just send a mail to epiphone and verify ur serial number.

that epiphone was made in 2008.and yes,les paul special 2 or those les paul jr(bolt necks) made in indonesia do have their serial not on the back of the headstock.

do some research before ranting it out here.

Yup. They have bolt on necks instead of set neck.
