what are they? really that cheap?

could anyone tell me anything... been off touch with guitaring for quite sometime already thanks :)

yes, they are that cheap, you can get them from many places and they dont sound too bad. though the plastic casings throw afew people into thinking its cheapo and bad sounding. nonetheless, you can rehouse them and do some kickass designs. :D

the fab series from danelectro are $30 from yamaha stores. sign up for their free membership and you get 10% off

fab chorus is a phenom... cant believe you get a nice sounding chorus at that price

fab flange is pretty decent, although the range may not be wide compared to other flangers, but good enough, mix this with the fab chorus and they sound great together

fab overdrive is pretty good. i use this for my bass hehe

fab metal is not bad, although if you set the gain too high like between 75%-100%, it tends to get too noisy (a loud circuit hum could be heard)

i havent tried the distortion and echo though

as for the built, its rigid plastic, its not the easy to break, but you might need to take extra care when stomping

all in all, these pedals are awesome for the price you pay ($27-$30)

yup they are pretty cheap.

Fab echo can be modded to go up to just under 1 sec with control in delay timing and oscillation.

Fab flanger is great and easy to use.

put them together and ....

sustain is tricky

what sorta sustain wud you be looking at?

some people use distortion/fuzz to get sustain, but that you get distorted signal.

some uses compressor, but that sorta take away some dynamics

some people use ebow, but that basically take away playing a guitar normally

some have sustainiac pickup, but that do nothing but sustain everything else

some have their guitar send for proper setup, cut nut to suit a particular gauge and this maximise overall performance on guitar

some uses some of the above and use the instrument thru a biiger amp and louder volume

what sorta sustain wud you be looking at? Thru effect with some other characteristic of the effect added in or inherent sustain of the instrument itself?
