Hi all,

Ever had to carry 2 guitars to a gig when you need to cover acoustic numbers? Now you can just bring one as the Graphtech Ghost system will transform you guitar into a lush sounding acoustic. Paul has very kindly provided a sound clip for your listening pleasure. I believe he got this system installed on his strat.

KC

You can find out more about the graphtech products at www.graphtech.com

1stly, that dun sound like what paul normally plays on the guitar..i may be wrong but it just didnt convince me.. at all..

2ndly,it might sound fairly good but its almost impossible to get the real accoustic tone and we all know that!and that track is very well mixed so unless i'm given a sample to try out myself, i wun 1 2 mess around with it..

Maybe it'll be better if you can provide a video clip of someone,any1 playing it live! or better, to prove it is an acoustic tone out from an electric guitar, throw us a free clinic from some great artist that uses it! haha..

go to their site! there's the video!

i must say it's pretty neat technology there! if the price is right, i'll get it and replaced my damned AC3.

and yes u cant get the exact sounds, and the usage of 0.9s dont help! hehe.

haha tany, i play ard with normally .009 or .010 with my few guitars at home.. yeah i hate my ac2.. thus in e end i got real accoustics.. i feel that real acoustic are afterall better sounding,if you know how to make them sound good :D will check the graphtech video..

thanks for putting it up, KC.

its actually installed on my POT axe, cause i hope not to fly with more than 1 guitar, for future overseas live session jobs.

recorded directly to capture its true sound. (no eq-ing done, added a light reverb and panned the rhythm track slightly left and lead track slightly right thats all) leaves a lot to imagine, if proper eq-ing was to be applied. did a jingle-jangle rhythm and did some lead lines with a couple of harder picks at the end. the POT axe is tuned down to D, with .10-46s equipped. through my speakers, it sounded ok.

for me, its a convenience to lighter traveling plus getting the job done.

Gr3y,

Do you know which Paul I'm talking about?

We all know that it's impossible to get real acoustic tone from any piezo system even on an acoustic guitar itself. This one comes very close. Being well mixed shouldn't be an issue, the fundamental tone is nice and the playing is good so mixing is just a complement. Mixing can do wonders but if the fundmentals are poor, it's pointless really. And paulo himself has come out to say what he used.

And if you're such a skeptic, you will be questioning every on Dimarzio, Seymour Duncan and even Taylor's websites and maybe even the OM sections!. Videos can be doctored too if I'm going to adopt your attitude. The list of artists from graphtech are plenty and a great product is not necessarily always used by a great artist. A great product is a great product regardless of who uses it. It's best to decide for yourself. Getting a GHOST system does not entail a monthly installments and a COE, so it is affordable enough to be bought without needing a test drive.

Another advantage of the GHOST system for Strat/Tele users is, the bridge unit does not need to be replaced. Just the saddles.

regards,
KC
