Expensive lesson- Ouch!

Recently my Yamaha P200 sprang a spoilt key (F#5) - my initial suspicion was something inside cracked - the key was in a sort of popped out position and rattled easily from side to side.. it still produced a note when you depressed it. I called the Yamaha tech and they came down promptly this morning.. my wife was at home to receive him. He took one look at the key, unscrewed the cover of the p200 and within 5 minutes, had fixed the problem. He said that apparently one of the 'catches' of the key had popped out, due to probably depressing the key too hard. All one needed to do was open the cover and give the key a good push and it would 'pop' back into place. He charged me $90 for the trip. He said if something similar happened next time, just do as he did.

Sheesh..

This is so you guys know. If a similar thing happens to your board, don't have to call the tech.. can do it yourself.

I won't look at it as an expensive lession.

It's for peace of mind.
The tech, in a way, confirmed that there was nothing else wrong with your keys.

yah but its strange a key can just pop out of its socket like that. haha. I had complete faith in yamaha action until today. i still love the keyboard but i'll just have to be a bit more careful with it.
