im a sucker for metal and virtuoso music...
music from Meshuggah,Children of bodom,Lamb of god makes my head bang
the licks from Steve vai,Rusty Cooley,Michael Angelo Batio makes my hair stand...but the problem is most of my music have the came from the same root-Metal and neo-classical metal....if im not wrong....
Right now i wanna try listening to rock music......
wat kind of band will you recommend me with gd music and nice riff and solo?

 :?:

hmm..theres alot of nice rock bands out there...from the old sch like guns&roses, bon jovi, rhcp...to the recent alter bridge...they r all pretty good rock bands

..

Hmm... if you want something heavy yet funky, I would strongly recommend Rob Trujillo's old band, Infectious Grooves as well as Suicidal Tendencies. Really old school, but its a total freak out session with them!

Suicidal Tendencies is a punk band right?

Suicidal is not punk actually. its "crossover", mixture of thrash/hardcore/metal. their later album has got a hint of funk. crossover means music that "crossover to different styles/genres". (another great example is D.R.I. - dirty rotten imbiciles)

rainbow, get the album when joe lyn turner was singing with them. i feel that's the best period. when dio took over, it kind of changed. joe lyn turner sings in yngwie's album Odyssey too. that's good too...

Try Muse, pretty alternative rock, good use of the bass guitar..

Our Time Is Running Out
Hysteria
Stockholm Syndrome

Also, can try looking into SOAD, The Used, Killers, Coldplay etc.

but so is the same as genre hybrid....like lamb of god...mixture of thrash and death metal...anw i seen a few website regarding Suicidal Tendencies and mostly recognise them as hardcore punk with a blend of metal

i feel you should listen to stuff that are not Rock because it is still quite close to what you have been listening to.

in order to expand your musical horizon, you can try listening traditional music from different countries. then move on to different genres like jazz, classical, new age, dance ....

you dont have to like them, just for educational purpose.
