Exchange Rates when ordering from Ishibashi

Hi guys, would like to enquire what's the exchange rates you guys are charged by the banks like POSB/UOB when you order your gear from Ishibashi? Thinking of getting something from them.

I suppose that's the 'ideal' exchange rate. But I believe that banks would charge a different rate cos they wanna earn some stuff too...

rates fluctuates all the time, so its very tough to tell u what rate we got.. and also, banks usually convert from yen -> usd -> sgd

u get "charged" twice on the spread.

Maybe could you guys tell me what was your quoted price from the website in Yen and how much did u actually end up paying in SGD?
Thanks

u get "charged" twice on the spread.

Actually the price didn't differ from what I converted from the xe site and what I ended up paying.

If the guitar is said to be 55,000Yen, what you'll pay is 55,000Yen plus about $40+ Gst when Singpost delivers it to your house. Look at the price without tax on their website btw. Their tax doesn't apply to us.

lets see at which point yen turns into SGD

1. you charge your ishibashi purchase to your credit card

2. ishibashi charges the credit card company in YEN

3. at this point, i am not sure, but it is either of the 2:

a. credit card company converts yen into SGD based on their own exchange rate

b. bank that issues you the credit card converts yen into SGD based on their rate

4. it gets onto your credit card statement in SGD. you get your credit card statement and whine. if you're using debit card you will suddenly one day discover that alot of money is gone. and then same thing, you whine

so the exchange rate depends on the credit card company or the bank. i think it's the bank. someone correct me if i'm wrong 8)

Yes Shinobi, you are most likely correct. So I don't think the bank's exchange rate is the same as XE's exchange rates, cos I believe the bank needs to earn some stuff...

Just wanna see how big is the difference between the bank's exchange rate and the rough guage on XE.com. Wondering would +- $50 be enough.
