Eric Johnson Stratocaster

stickiness i think is due to the Nitro finish not being completely dry yet. Due to pressing consumer demand... the factory has to pump out the instruments for sale in the fastest time possible... thus sometimes the finishes arent 100% cured.

it means the Nitro finish has rubbed away with wear .... arguably one of the best feeling neck types; the nitrofinish worn down to the wood.

I have an EJ. Its nice but pales when played on my Relic.

What Chan Min mentioned is correct .... play it like a workhouse guitar and it'll begin opening up.

yes mine and Souljah's came with sticky necks...

u just gotta persevere and play till the stickiness subsides. My EJ neck isnt sticky anymore:)

the body's nitro finish is really thin... *nice* and yes this is truely custom shop features at very good prices.

All 3 of my strats have nitro finished necks and bodies... None of them are sticky... Maybe it's luck?:mrgreen:

The nitro finish on mine is slowly changing color particularly the body part that is in contact with my thigh. My EJ is a blond.

I just notice a today the sound of this EJ unplugged is better than the time I got it... it surely bcoz of the curing of the nitro.

haha white strat... no la.. its cus your strast have been hanging in SWee lee for months and months before you bought it. either that or fender gave it ample curing time before shipping it out to swee lee.

My EJ was from a dude who bought from the states... shortly after it was released in the US... i believe it was a later batch. the serial number is #1014 ... quite new at that time.

for those guys who dont wish to wait... you can always just fine sand it with 1000 grit sandpaper... satined goodness :)

My strat built int 2005 .. til now still sticky haha

Hey can ask you guys something?
Does the EJ strat come with any certificate of authenticity? Or else how to know if real, say if I buy second hand?

No lei... I bought the sunburst one 3 days after it came in. Then the black one about 3 weeks later. And both were the same batch of new shipments. The Vintage Hotrods are a 2007 new model, remember?

Can't say that about the surf green though... Dunno how long Swee Lee had that, but it wasn't on display. They dug it out from the box in the warehouse...
