Equiry on Custom Acoustic guitars

Hi,
I'm looking for info regarding the Custom Acoustic FG710E. Does anyone know what strings (brand/type/gauge) are factory fitted? I liked the sound of the factory strings. Changed to some Martins and they're not really what I want.
The salespeople at City Music were not able to provide me with the information, only string gauge.
Anyone? Thanks!

maybe you can try light gage!! if your light strummer or fingerpicking. cheers!!!

0.12 is light gauge isn't it?
ah well, after the martins sat in for a while and that "new guitar string" metallic brightness went away, it sounded better, so I think they would have been fitted with either 80/20 or phosphor bronze strings. Don't think they were D'addarios, as I don't remember the ball ends to be coloured but I guess brand doesn't really make much of the difference as compared to the type of strings.
will still experiment with more mellow strings, as for gauge, don't think i'll go lower than 0.12s.

Custom Acoustic guitars origin =D

I think it's D'Addario EXP light gauge .12s =D I'm pretty sure abt it

Note that string gauge designation (light, medium, etc) and string thickness (9s, 10s, 11s, etc) depend on different string companies. Gauge 12 strings are considered Medium by GHS strings, but other companies may see gauge 12s as light or medium-light.

I thought standard production acoustic guitars are by default strung with gauge 10s? Custom boutique guitars or top-end standard production guitars tend to have higher gauges like 11s and 12s I think.

To be honest, having used three different gauges (10s, 11s and 12s on acoustic) I don't really experience much difference, but it could be just me.

From my experience, most factory dreadnaught guitars come fitted with standard 11 gauge strings. For a warmer tone, I would recommend vintage bronze strings (GHS or Dean Markley)

thanks for all the replies guys!
the Custom Acoustic guitars are fitted with .12 gauge strings, according to the CityMusic staff.
The martin phosphorous/bronze strings work for me now but I'll be sure to try out the other strings recommended here.
