What I thought on the techical side of the game....
I think, England played at snail speed coz of strategic cause. They were caught unaware of the searing heat in the 1st game and they learnt their lesson. They know that to play their game in German's heat, they need to start slow, play possessively, do lotsa passing to lure Trin&Toba players to come out.
In the other hand, T&T player is expected to play very defensively. It's only when the hour mark pass by, the day has slowly turning cooler and england's stamina are still up to mark. So Mister Swedish made a master changes...
They send in young players to inject speed with Beckham playing support role for Aaron Lennon and right side cover for the fragile 3 piece defenders. Rooney was send in to wreck speedy havoc in front of goals where Owen used to be during his younger time. Then Downing in the left to inject a more direct approach then Joe Cole who is a more of dribbler (like Portugese Ronaldo) .
3 pair of fresh young legs and T&T defence started to crack. For me, Lennon was the most obvious better subs of all 3 with his great ball control. T&T left fullback was found occasionally left back trailing his path. Using such player, Beckham (behind Lennon) then have more spaces to dart in his crosses which in the end Crouch get it right.
And what I thought of entertainment side of the game...
Bloody wasting my 80 mins with such slow speed strategy!!!!!!!!!! They should have at least tell the viewers that they will show their actual attacking game play at their actual speed earlier!!!!! Hahaha....
