Need help ! : Epiphone LP needs repair

Any of you guys know where I can get my LP repaired ?

My headstock cracked and I guess I have to replace the whole neck thingy. Anyone knows who can do such things here in Singapore, with paint work and everything....

eh juz to be specific, what u mean by crack?
do you mean just a small ding or a LARGE fraction of the thing just flew off?

crack

thanx guys !

nothing fly off. There is a hairline crack which potentially looks like the headstock may break into 2 if I were to apply pressure. I left it as it is as I do not want to further damage it. Its a bit difficult to describe but I cannot post pics here as well....sigh

How can I get in touch with Malcom ?

Hi,

Firstly you need to laydown your maximum budget for such a job to tell the repairman. Broken neck repairs can be moderate to very complex job depending on where the break occurs and amount of damage.

For a full job including refinishing can take quite a long time to process due to the repairman availability. Multiple coats of paint or finishing could be needed to make the repaired joint least noticable.

I think a mid-complexity job with full refinishing could cost about $300 more less.

So you need to consider the money factor as it cost about half the git original cost already.

Repair is often many times more labourious, skill craftsmanship level dependent, than building a new one on the production line. Thus reasonably priced as such. Sorry my repair forte is in amps and electronics, not woodworks, thus I can't help myself.

Local repair for this I know are: Sinamex, Malcom, Guitar Connection, Guitar workshop, Maestro. (no particular order, price & service will vary, shop wisely but dun be an ass-o)
