Go for the standard. The LP 100 is a entry level guitar and although you've said its your first guitar, its better to play on something worthy to play at the very least.

You can get a standard for $400 - 450 if you prowl the used section. Ops.....re-read and you're buying it new.

The price diff between an LP 100 new and the LP Standard new is quite a big gap but definitely worth it. But with all guitars try out the standard b4 the purchase.

yeah i think i'm going to go for the standard. but i'm short on cash got about 600 and i want to buy it new. swee lee website says it costs 720 which i can fork out. I just hope it really is that price and that they have in stock.

yeah 30 bucks and it looks a little nicer. I have a question to ask and i'm sorry if it sounds kind of newbie, but why does it cost 720 at swee lee and 600 with a bag at standard value?

Diff places = Diff prices. If you go to Davis you can find their LP at $550 if I'm not wrong. Its like any other things thats being sold in the market, clothes, shoes, food. Some places sells things cheaper than others. Vice versa.

But do take note that their prices displayed at SL are before the usual discounts they give.

correct me if i'm wrong but doesn't davis have MIC epiphone les pauls and SGs? The les pauls are at about 550 if i'm not wrong.

hmmm.. just out of curiosity if the guitars are MIC now does it make any difference with tone and stuff cos i'm new so i wouldn't be able to tell any differences if there are any
