FPaulLes: Don't get the guitars from Swee lee cause it's way too expensive.
is this a personal encounter? i believe swee lee's price to be reasonable pertaining to Epiphone.

i gots to agrees with sub on this one, sweelee's epi prices are realy quite reasonabe. i got mine from there years ago.
dont strike sweelee off your list at all, alternatively, try to second hand one perhaps?[/quote]

^^ +1. Scout around for 2nd-hand Epi sellers. You might just save up the cash required to modify the axe in the future.

thanks guys will probably check out swee lee bras basah...i checked out Davis but they got a lot of Esp guitars. I really want an epiphone, it's the closest to getting a gibson. By the way are the prices stated on the swee lee website actual prices and do they have all the guitars that they show on the site?

japanese copies are closer than epiphone IMHO

guitar connection does have a few 2nd hand epiphones (MIK and MIC). should be reasonably priced. depends on your budget though.

550 is definitely enough to get yourself a good 2nd hand Epiphone Les Paul really. heck, you might even have some spare change to buy a pedal along with it :lol: . however, do read up on the things that you are interested in to avoid being ripped off.
look around, 2nd hand items are everywhere. soft, yahoo auctions, luthermusic classifieds. basically everywhere :lol: .

majority of the Jap copies are mid-priced units ($900+/-). maybe you can save a little more to acquire a deserving model- not saying the EPIs are duds...
