Just interested to know what you guys think. Is it me or do EMG's sound rather dull compared to humbuckers or single coils or even P-90's?
EMG's are full of power with roaring sounds but that's just about it, clean tone is basically are lifeless. Yes, it's got that chuggar chuggar and punch but not much of a range of tones.
Putting aside whatever guitar it's fitted with, would a guitar with humbuckers playing with a guitar with EMG's be able to merge together? Are there any bands that do that?
