Effects setup

HAI guys ,
i'm wondering which setup should i use

Guitar --> Line6 Floor Pod --> BOSS SD-1 --> Amp

OR

Guitar --> BOSS SD-1 --> Line6 Floor Pod --> Amp

-------------------------------

reason being most of my friends and i too , hating the digital sound of the floor pod . So i'm just gonna use the verb and delays and the mods on the floor pod .

So it would be something like this,
i want the amp modelling,
so
i turn on Treadplate which is a Mesa boogie dual rectifier,
i turn the drive to 0 so it is clean, and i use my BOSS SD-1 as the overdrive.

is it viable?

Guitar --> BOSS SD-1 --> Line6 Floor Pod --> Amp

but there are pro's and cons about the setup

Do u have a effects loop on your amp?

it depends, some might have as i don't really play at home .
BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE A AMP AT HOME T-T
i'm just sending all my stuff into the mic jack into stereo system at home.

is the ds1 really necessary in your setup?
would be easier if you leave that out of the equation. i think the floor POD should be enough

sd-1 is necessary,
because i cannot stand the digital sounds,
the distortion sounds quite digital,
it sounds good on the home stereo
but not on proper amps like VOX , Fender and stuff.

the floor pod USED to be enough..

Can you actually turn the dual rectifier amp mode to clean? From my experience if you turn it all the way down you still get a very, very powerful overdrive.

I have a Floor POD and I use it a lot, but mainly as a stand-a-lone as the tones I get on it are sufficient these days. But yeah, analogue pedals definitely sound better. I used to do it this way, since I also use pedals:

Amp --> Line 6 Floor POD --> Digitech Bad Monkey OR Beta Aivin HM-200 --> guitar.

The Floor POD would not be using amplifier modelling. I'd set it to clean bypass (turn it all the way left).

Worked for me. :cool:
