hey guys apparently singapore doesnt really have too much wierd places like a barn/farm to hold a gig, furthermore wierdest has always been those really ulu warehouses.but really sometimes the wierdest venues are the best places to hold a gig as u can really mix around and the sese of camaderie is just great.mostly underground gigs la but really good vibe and at times cheap to host as well.few years back we had a gig at ij studios(is it still around?)it was really cool.so questios is where were the most eccentricaly cool venues u guys have ever been to?cheers

In a previous job, I was looking at the hangar besides the current PA building (the old airport) to do a show.

But of course, refurbishing that shithole would have cost more than the show itself.

I went to this underground rave (literally): It was held at a basement carpark (the building with Hard Rock Cafe) with aircon machines pumping air and there were free booze. Damn kick-ass. I can't remember the sponsor. Heineken did 2 shows before on rooftop carparks. Great fun...

dsiturbing? its superb!!!! such an awesome place for an experimental noise-black metal gig!!!! if they want can do also tributation to fav Thai/Cambodian/Vietnamese songs!!!!

man!!!and i thought with all those pesky residents rooftop gigs were impossbile!!damn haha but will take alot of budget to do that i guess.any funky warehouse ggis anyone?the other time i saw a banner at kim chuan road near the sbs bus depot apprently there was a punk gig at one of the warehouses.i really thought it was a cool concept its kinda weird though but i really think it humbles us as musicans.

in a church! not a church event though! rockin crowd

Niteblade: Ahh, those were the days. To begin with, it wasn't even that long ago. Lol.
But that was pretty fun although we only got to play 3 songs and 1 song out of "request" and equipment was pretty shabby.

Anyway, i've always thought it'll be pretty cool to host a gig in a carpark that stopped operating. But the utilities... :\

I can go one better than that!
I actually played in a prison before!
Kaki Bukit Prison school to be precise... we had to have our whole gear searched before we went in and weren't even allowed to bring extra patch cables only what we using

changi cahalet - private party - it rained and we lpayed by a drain - my jack was in the drain water 90% oft he time

Pulau Tekong! OC Night!

RoRK was hemsem bugger then ... . As recruits we booked out for half a day. Took bumboat out (those were the days when recruits could only book in/out from Tekong using RPLs, aka, open-top, human-sized sardine cans), went to drink beer, ngoh kah pi and had KFC! Took the last bumboat back to Tekong with our gear! Amazing!

wahhaa - hey bro I played oc ngt tooo at Tekong Camp 3
- wat an event ya? 3 day rehersal while the rest of the company got tuff log PT training for pop display - we band members all ate, slept & jammed in the hall - shiok ....

the memories ...

Kelaka lah lu! haha! The memories indeed!

My company actually combined with another company because in ours we only had two guitarists, myself and my section mate who was in Chris Ho's band then. And RoRK had a lot of kakis in the other company.

So we combined and played for two OC nights. The farny thing was we all had our gears, guitar and amp but we bullshreded our OC that we didn't have amps and we needed longer hours outside of Tekong because we had to go and rent the amps - OC goblok sial! Say what you want but guitarists are indeed the bestest when it comes to bullshredding! :D

Another farny bit was that the other company peeps brought in full drum set and all using RPL - gobloks!

But we didn't have so many days for rehearsal - I think it was only two one-half days.
