Anyone own or tried an Eastwood replica of the vintage Airline guitars? if you've ever seen a White Stripes mtv, you'll know what it looks like

but in case you dont, click below:

i'm seriously gassing for one. not the red-and-white one like Jack White's, but the all-white model.

I think it'll come to about 1400 SGD incl hardcase and shipping.

i've read the reviews on Harmony Central, just wondering if anyone here has seen these guitars in singapore?

no man..

jack white's was an original 60s model with only the bridge pickup
working...

owners on harmony central report a special vibe coming out of that
guitar. the replicas are korean made if i m not mistaken?

yeah jack white's is a real vintage Airline, Eastwood makes copies of rare vintage guitars. They have china-made models, but the Airline ones are made in Korea.

Very good reviews on Harmony Central, esp excellent workmanship.

read that those pickups have a real growl to them. and the look is just killer, IMO 8)

I thought the original Airlines had plastic bodies? I imagine that the tone from that would have been "unique"

Yeah mamemo, only 20 frets... not for shredder-type personalities

you're right mero, the original Airlines were made of two halves of this plastic called Res-O-Glass. the 2 halves were joined by some kinda sealant which created a 'ridge' along the width of the guitar. hence this guitar is semi hollow

the eastwood replica is made of mahogany, but is also hollowed out to create sound chambers

first time i saw it, i thought it looked weird too... but its one of those oddball-looking guitars which have the 'cool' factor (whether or not Jack White plays it)
