Chances of fake boss pedals are very slim, because their casing is expensive and difficult to manufacture.

And they are relatively cheap, so should not have many fake Boss pedals around.

i kinda regret getting my ds-2 , i got it only cause john frusciante had one and i wanted to play dani california , but other than that and playing blues it doest really give much kick , get beez to mod a ds-1 for you perhaps . i should have done that . and with regards to you question , its the lighting . fake boss pedals dont come around often

The DS-2 is not really for playing blues.

Its for distortion and it packs distortion galore.

For playing blues, you should go for an over driven sound.
I use both amp gain or blues driver for Blues.

I use my DS-2 and Big muff pi for rock.

I'd say you should use the right effect or at least experiment to get the sound you want. Because if you want general blues tone, the DS-2 is NOT for you.

If you want rock and rock distortion, then then DS-2 is a good tool for experimenting.

Anyway, John doesn't really use the DS-2 for Dani california. He uses a mosrite fuzzrite.
It has a very edgy tone, something i can get if i run the ds-2 on turbo into a big muff pi.
