Drummers (Double pedals = pro?)

If musicians in general or usually bands starting out would normally have a stereotype - Double pedals = kick ass....

this does not necessarily mean that... many great cats out there double pedal and do not play metal/trashcore....

DAVE WECKL - fusion jazz/bebop etc
STEVE SMITH - jazz/ethnic american drummer.

i can do 16th notes syncopated single foot bass drum notes but that doesn't mean im good...

anyways, trash metal, u can always spam single foot 16 notes blast beats.. makes it sounds easier to the oh so overatted double pedalling cliche.

double pedals are extra, imo. its just a tool to get people hyped and all headbanging has the ultra booming bass effect on your headphones everytime a drummer hits double pedals.
but i think double pedals make people less creative with their toms, etc. they can just bust out their double pedals and people will go "woah, pro".
check out After The Sky's drummer, he is really tight and can hear a jazz/blues kinda influence which you dont see much these days and their music is heavy but i dont see him using double pedals much.
