dropping your guitar?

was just wondering....what happen if your guitar dropped from a upright-resting position to face down(front) right onto the ground? haha
anyone got any experience?
will it damage or affect the sound?

Happen once to me. Long time ago, with my acoustic fell flat. Bam. But that was because i knocked over a cymbal stand while climbing down my decked bed, hit the acoustic and it fell flat. A fret stuck out and pretty much screwed playing on the upper frets. It needs a lil repair work done. Other than that it's still workin fine. If an acoustic could survive that, i'm sure an electric could too. But.... ouch....

yeap...it happened to my 1st electric guitar(epi lespaul)...and my my bandmate's bass guitar too....well...so far nothing bad happened afterwards....check the neck and all but no defects.....just that last string on my lespaul had a dent and had to change the strings coz it buzzed....

well... my frens accoustic bought from Davis went kaput from falling sideways. The headstock just broke off... heheh, he only got it for a few weeks haha

oh yeah, i bought this cheapo strat though and wanted to try the malmsteen "swing around" thingie but i dont have strap locks. so the guit just fell to the ground in mid air. and after wards the action abit wierd, some frets begin to buzz yada yada..

nothing much if you dont care about the guitar.

wa...flying into mid air...
i dropped mine accidentally and didnt really inspect it yet.....have a buzz on the B string and the neck humbucker came off... :(

hah........my frens ibanez universe got a cracked pickguard and loose knobs. thats frm dropping it at the studio. till now its still cracked.

yeah....talking bout flying guitars....i knew a guy who threw his ibanez JPM up to 7 metres away from him due to venting of frustration while having an argument with his gf(back then, now ex)....the guitar broke in 2.....the neck and the body said goodbye to each other....

My first Epi Les Paul fell off the wall (I had one of those wall mount brackets and had not screwed it in properly) straight onto my computer and smashed the keyboard. I was sitting at it at the time, downloading porn (or something), and got this almighty shock.

The guitar was fine - after hitting the PC, it glanced off me and landed on the bed. The PC keyboard needed replacing.

i had my fender strats broken due to falling off from high places.. i had 2..one fell from my double decked bed..another was thrown of stage by this dude who got so high in a gig..bloody ass tt guy...it was at YP any witnesses here??..youth festival last yr..

i think epiphones finishes and guitars are tough...
like one guy mention in some forum...he said ibanez guitars are more prone to chips? is that true?
while epiphones are easier chipped off.
my epiphone SG has 2 nicks and there's only a dent only while the paint is still there perfectly...
