Drinking hot tea causes cancer!?

Haha, cancer is only common cuz we have good healthcare nowadays. Sounds dumb but it is a fact. I think if everyone lived for only 40 years. Cancer would be like: "Huh? What's that? Is it edible?"

Just something I happened to read on life expectancy. I LOVE MY English Breakfast and Teh Tarik!!! (:

amnesiac, lipton or earl grey? haahha or any other nice stuff to introduce??

Haha im still gonna drink my tea as well, and i do drink it at a high temp actually =\ i'll boil the water, pour it into my cup with the tea bag and drink. I sip it slowly of course, i don't gulp it down. I usually just have english breakfast haha..nothing special to recommend leh. i do enjoy the occasional jasmine or camomile too

I eat and drink everything cold.

I'm the healthiest man to have ever walked the grounds of the earth, and I have a 100% immunity against cancer caused by drinking boiling tea.

Whoopee-do!

You know since we're on the topic of health, just a little fun fact for all of you.

My parents are selling a health product in Mumbai, India, which is especially good for people with asthma. It thrived here in Singapore, so they expanded it to Mumbai.

In Mumbai, the air is at least 50x as polluted as it is here, without exaggerating. The smog is so thick it literally blurs the sun.

Now here's the interesting fact: Barely anyone there has asthma, in spite of the air having ridiculous levels of pollution, dust and dirt. Go figure.

Something in our water is making us weak! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjZY0KufWao

Ouch. Your parents business probably isn't doing too well there.

I tihnk its more of adaptation. Cause if your body is adapted to something you be able to survive on it.

For example:
Singapore's water is so clean you can just drink it straight from the tap. Other coutries like Thailand and Indonesia do not have portable water. When Singaporeans drink it, they stand a high chance of getting food poisoning.
Strangely, the locals don't

At the end of the day, it boils down to whether the body is used to it

I thought it's commonsense that consuming very hot fluids will damage your throat cells and possibly give you cancer, in the longterm.

Sometimes even Science can't sway pple from their stubborn and foolish beliefs.

People are naturally stubborn.. Sometimes stubbornness is good and sometimes stubbornness is bad. Ah well.. It is true tea contains anti-oxidants so they do prevent cancer. But either way hot tea will damage throat cells.

in the near future scientists will start to experiment with every single food. next we know that all food we eat is deemed as bad. and that's the bottom line.

MUST AS WELL DON'T LIVE THEN

Chinese Tea is very very good, IMO. Those really bitter ones. Especially if you eat fatty food, then you need the tea to get rid of the fat cells. And it needs to be hot to be effective..haha.. Quite opposite uh from main post..lol

A Singaporean man once died after a dying crab clawed him and passed on a flesh eating virus.

ok let's all avoid eating crabs.

NO F-----G way.

i wonder why isit just tea? if tea, then what type of tea? i thought its dangerous to drink piping hot drink regardless of any drink. wont u get ur throat scalded?

Just wondering. If science could prove that something really causes cancer, would you continue disbelieving it? Not saying that I believe what the article says (in actual fact I don't, based on what I've learnt in my biochemistry module at RP) but I'm just curious..
