double pedals

Axis is good but comes with a price. You can have very good control on a cobra and it's also quite affordable as compared to dualist and axis. I think it's really up to your personal preference.

i tried elims a long time ago, they had quite a high tension cos of the dual chain, but maybe it's just getting used to it. what about sonor? the thomas lang ones. any comments?

you an elim fan? haha.
my friend also said the eliminator footboard was quite lacking.
i might go for iron cobras, maybe can get them around same price.

yeah u can even adjust the elims' settings to make it feel like cobras.

i think what you mean by lacking is the footboard feels light and like it might give way anytime, doesnt it?

i guess its supposed to help fast footwork. like how joey jordison does on his elims

not to mention Dennis Chambers, Chad Smith etc...etc... if u guys happened to watch Modern Drummers 2005 DVD, featuring Jojo Mayer with his band Nerve... if u watch closely, Jojo is using a modified Pearl Elims pedal. And everybody knows he is a Sonor's endorsee all this while.

i tried to capture the picture of the video but i failed. yes he use only single pedal and his beater is somehow not elims'.

just go for elims.

you wont wanna try the others

Everybody has their own preferences. I could say, play 9002, and u wun wana play sumtin else or i can say play Cobra, and u will become a God. Let them try and make their decision. Tats the best part of it all, choices..

hi guys,

got a pedal tunning question.

my pedal seems a bit stiff, as in got a bit of reaction time error -.- e.g i do double strokes on it, sometime the first stroke will rebound like a fraction of a second slow then my 2nd THUMP will kinda like hit 'air'

hope u guys understand what i mean XD how should i tune to solve this problem XD

btw they are a pair of peace velocity doule pedals, the above mentioned are occuring on the right one when i choose not to double pedal.

thanks :)

Hi, I think you might need to play around with the tension. Your last pedal...are they loose or tight? You will need sometime to get used to new pedals....by right, if your technique is good, you should be able to play without such problems regardless of settings....its just a matter of whether the setting is 'comfy' or not. When you've done enough work with your feet, they sensitize to new settings quite fast...as in they should be able to adjust to play what is needed regardless of setting....but that and comfort are 2 seperate issues....For example, I may be at a gig using a rented pedal with a tight tension and rusted nut....I will still be able to pull off a fast samba groove....but I may not feel comfortable cos I usually practice on medium tensioned pedals....

I suggest you bring down your practice tempo and give yourself time to get used to the pedals.

Yamaha Flying Dragon DFP9410
Direct-Drive Double Foot Pedal

Anyone familiar with how much this costs at music plaza?

US$270/S$432 from Musician's Friend.

erm sorry last pedal means? my left pedal is slightly more lose than my right but thats pretty fine.

yea i thought that it might be a case of not comfy or fatigue too, hence i tried a couple of times with fresh legs, but that problem still kinda exist once in a while. For what i feel from itis really the reaction of the pedal, like what i state about in whichthe pedal doesnt reacts back fast enough on occasions to enable the execution of the 2ns stroke. It SHOULD be a problemof tension, but i dunno whether to tighten of losen the spring tension to solve this problem XD

thanks!:D

hey weckl-x , i bought it at 567.18

Wah... not cheap man. Plus shipping from vpost maybe S$500.
I asking because I saw one on ebay last night, US$175 NEW!

Have you had them for long? How do you find them so far? Pros, cons?
I actually like them over elims and ICs.

My 2 cents Based on pedals i have tried.

Iron Cobras - sensitive
Peace Velocity - Exceptional
Axis - Sensitive as well
Yamaha Flying Dragon - Good for fast playing
Pearl Eliminators - Good For fast footwork and probably my most preferred
Double pedals.
DW 5000 - Equaly as good as Elims

But it All boils down to how your feel, whether u like fast foot work or u want it to be sensitive or tight. So u really have to play around till you find the right pedals, who knows, maybe you will like the low end pedals.

weckl-x, wanna go there together?? i wanna try them yamaha flying dragon too lah, never tried em b4.. so now still deciding which dbl pedal to buy.. haha

anyways, tried the premier dbl pedals, fwiw, its not worth buying it unless you like too smooth pedals. cots around 700 plus.. at swee lee sims drive
