Hi..i'm thinking of getting a double pedal..

I'm wondering whether a normal-not-so-popular-brand pedal (such as Carlos) would be good since i'm low on cash..

What do u guys think?

hi, in my opinion, most double paddles work in pretty much the same way. its just the quality and workmanship that comes from brand to brand and model to model. i always believe that you pay for what you get. but always make sure you get a good deal and dont end up being ripped off. anyway, ive tried some less popular brands of double paddles and honestly they're quite a far cry from the bigger names, my main problem was with the equalisation and feel of the right and left. dont rule out smaller brands, but make sure you get one with a good equalisation and of decent quality.. if not, save up awhile longer and acquire a brand worthy of trust!

Look for pedals with solid base plates...
Those with industrial grade velcro strips pasted at the bottom are a plus...

DW4002 pedals are great to start with...

dw pedals are good... super smooth.. or get an iron cobra.. cheaper than dw.. works almost as well... dont bother with brands like lazer or carlos.. i hate the action...

Yamaha ones are OK....

Although I find that they tend to "over-innovate" their higher end pedals...
I have the DFP9410 direct drive set from Yamaha... they're great... sort of like the cheapo version of the Axis X2 Shortboard series...
But I hate the DFP's stupid hood clamp shit... it comes loose during play and hence wobbles during 16th note blasts...

Time for some modding..............
