DIY Pedalboards!

Hi guys!
I think many here would like to have their own pedalboards... and its kind of tough to fork out $300 - $400 for a hardcase pedalboard with a noisy power system.

So yeah, I'm embarking on a DIY project, to build my own pedal board... I'll like this post to be a collection of everyone's DIY pedalboard, be it big or small! Post some pics and give some details of the materials used!

I'll start off first with what I intend to do...

1) 800x300x20mm shelf (At any DIY shops)
2) 2 x BBQ wire mesh (The THICK heavy duty kind)
3) Cable Tie (long ones)
4) Ritter Keyboard Bag (Swee Lee, 1000x300x150mm, $35)
5) 2-in-a-row 3-pin multiplug

I intend to drill a couple of holes in the board, cable tie both the BBQ Mesh to the board, side by side. Then Cable Tie all pedals down.

I've thought of Industrial Velcro but I figured, cable tie is SOOOOO much cheaper and its VERY secure, you got to cut to take your pedal out, and you don't stick stuff to your pedal which is very hard to take off later. Of course, cable tie could be unsightly and you need somehting for it to secure to... but i thought, why not? I'm not going to move my pedals ard much anyway.

Then I'll cable tie the multiplug down, attach my 1Spot to it....

Any comments?

Oh yeah, expect some pics soon! :)

wire mesh..hmmm..hehe...kinda cool..i'm also doing so..but using a 1spot to power the pedals..yupz... haven gotten the board yet... the keyboard bag...which model is it ar?

sorry to borrow this thread...for myself...i've gotten a hard case already. but i need a board cut to size....any idea where to get this done?

haha i'm using a old laptop bag lying around at the moment.

Keyboard Bag -1060*448*178mm
Model: RJK325/BB

you mean this one? a lil' bit too long for me..ahha..not so much effects...

i'm looking for briefcases as an alternative too..yeah...

Ah... got some uncle hardware shops that will do it for you... there's one at Simpan Bedok, but I don't know how to direct you to exactly where it is...

Hmmmm... Buy one of those shelf boards at DIY shops? There's some small ones.

hey mulyadi, you can get the hard cases at ranking if you dont need one thats too big. or just get a pedal case from mr misse...stock just arrived.

Yap mulyadi, thats the one.

If you go to Ritter's website, there's a HUGE variety to choose from, and I'm sure you'll find something there... Only have to order from somewhere else other than Swee Lee lah...

How about using high density foam to wedge your pedals in place? U will have to cut out the exact shape of your pedals though.

I think the pedals will shift a little here and there even if you cable tie them down. Especially when you step on them.
