Distortion pedal help

Anyway I not so much into the heavy gain tone... I am into the mild to moderate gain with enough warmth and smooth flowing sound...

Haha... tml if have time I will go try both pedals out... btw where is davis?

haha... I went to marshall webbie and the sd-1 sounds very nice to me as oppose to a ds-1...

What's ur take on this guys? Anyone knows how much is sd-1? I am hoping for a 80 bucks price tag... or lower...

Thanks pinkspider...

the ds-1 sounds thin to my ears. get the sd-1 if you're after a warmer smoother tone.

Yea, it's thin, but after it's modded, it's a whole new machine :D

Btw, if you can afford it, get either the Radial Tonebone Classic or the Hot British. The tone is magnificent. And consistent too. It's has every characteristic of a tube preamp because it's got a tube in it.

I have yet to try... most likely I will tml... haha... by then can say liao... but just curious cos going to buy first pedal...

is it advisable to bring own guitar to try the pedal?

they said the tonebone classic or hot british sounds like marshall?

its good to bring your own guitar down..can hear how the pedal will sounds with your guitar

BTW... I like green day sound too... u guys know what distortion they using?
You have a good taste. Billy Joe got his distortion by using only his Marshall plexi amps, with volume in 10. Not very practical, nor good to your hearing. But an excellent crunch sound nonetheless.

Good luck with your search!

SInce we're in Distortion topic, I saw Steve Vai's pedals and one of them is a DS1!!!!! 8O

Yea, with the level on full at drive at zero. He used it as a boost.

they said the tonebone classic or hot british sounds like marshall?

Well, the purists would tell you nothing compares to the real thing :D
But it's definitely one of the best overdrive effects out there.
