Distortion/Overdrive as an analog boost?

Hey, got a really crazy question here. Would like to ask if an overdrive/distortion pedal, a good quality one, going into my digital amp(Nux Mighty 15)'s drive channel would help it sound more organic? I do feel that the Nux's distortion by itself sounds rather digital and lacks that punch, so would a pedal before it, help make it sound more analog/tube? Or does it just provide more gain on gain, still sounding digital in the end?

For me I owned a Nux mighty 15 too, I feel for a 15 watt amp that is probably the best around I've not heard any amp that is better. However if that doesn't satisfy you, having a pedal in front of it won't do much either. Reason being the NuX amp isn't like those giant amp where they can deliever the full freq range very well. So even if you have a good pedal it doesn't deliever what the pedal is meant to deliever. Well you do get the character for the pedal tone but not everything, not all the fine nuance all the bass and trebles the pedal is meant to deliever.

Hey Likui, how long've you had your Nux, and how's it been serving you? I got mine from SV like 1 & 1/2 years ago when I started playing guitar. Pretty much got everything I needed to start from Mike & the guys!

PS: Thanks for making me feel better too.I secretly wanted assurance that I had the best amp for it's price range, so I can justify any further gear upgrades(been thinking of changing to higher output humbuckers on my Rally LP) :P

If the amp sounds digital then sticking something to kick the preamp wont help at all. A better way is to run the amp clean and use dirt from analog dirt pedals/ tube preamp.
