Hi everyone!

Ok, so this topic is about Dilemma. Im sure we have all been in a situation where we cant choose between one or the other. Be it between girls, between guitars, between anything.

So my question is, how do you guys solve a problem like that? Looking for everyone's different views on this matter :D

Post a current dilemma you're in and share! Help give advice to other people's problems including mine below! :D

My currently Dilemma:

I cant choose between 2 passions of mine. Guitar and martial arts. I really want to start taking guitar lessons to improve as a guitarist but its so hard to let go and stop training martial arts. I can only choose one because 1) Money and 2) Time. As I will be starting school in April, i will only have time for 1. Hmmmm.....

Ask yourself:
Which are you better at?
Which are you likely to get even better at?
Which can you live without?

It seems like the last question is a little hard..
But if i were you i think, all else being equal(you love both as much), I can live without martial art rather than guitar...because...you'd be reminded of giving up guitar everywhere you go.(almost)

Just my candid two sense

Or like they say...flip a coin, and see what you were hoping for while it's in the air.

Well, I feel that there's only so much one can learn by themselves. I've been learning by myself for abut 2 years plus, took a LONG break of about 2 years. I think that one would excel a lot faster with a guide from an experienced musician.

I find that I learn from tabs and am able to play what i want to technically. But i feel like i am learning blindly. Like just see tabs and play. A bit pointless. I want to learn MUSIC, not tabs...

I also learned scales from the net, but when i improvise over a song, its the same thing over and over again. Like just the basic pentatonic and major/minor scales.

I had the same dilemma once. It was between a favorite sport or guitars. after a few black eyes and broken bones, among other things, I settled on guitars. Haha and i wasn't doing martial arts. :p

Unless you look like justin bieber or <insert korean guy's name> with a guitar, you won't get girls.

coming from a violent past background myself, I can only tell you martial arts malpractice will mean the end of your guitar playing if you hurt your fingers/wrist in a "permanent" manner. and unless you're really good with martial arts that won't get you girls anyway cos I think girls these days like metro guys.

and all the more you gotta stay away from trouble because if i'm not wrong getting involved with the law while being martial arts certified gets you double the punishment. so make sure you're not certified. I guess. then again if I'm not wrong the trend out there these days is to go around in teenage mobs and yelling random 3 digit numbers... none of those Ip Man "I WANT TO FIGHT TEN MEN" stuff anymore.

Here's what I recommend you to do as what I did back then : both takes money and time. so use the time, to make money. and use that earned money, to buy time. tada. otherwise, take both on at once, instead of Swordplay, use the guitar literally as an "Axe".
