Ugh, pening pening. Guys, should i take this diploma in broadcasting course? Of course i really love this course, and broadcasting and such, but am i too old for that. Im now left 6 months more to graduate on my boring diploma in mutimedia and infocomm tech, and then go to NS. and then plan to take the dip in broadcasting course in malaysia.

http://www.miim.edu.my/courses/cfb/dib.html (link here, pls take a look)

it cost RM20K for 2.5 years.

I really want to go, but abit of me doesnt want to and just stop studying and get to work.

which aspect of this course interest you? is there something that you don't already know?

Hmm.. always love to do broadcasting since before im not studying in nyp. But the MASS COMM in NYP and Film,Studio and Video course in NGEE ANN.. was so hrd to get in.... plus+ my english that time is so bad (now still bad, tho i try to forum as much as i can to improve my eng)

regarding the course, it deals with video editing, script writng and broadcast live telecast thingy, (anythign that relate to behind-the-scene) thats what interest me.

thought of going, to UITM to study this (as it is the best in malaysia) but, UITM is ONLY for bumiputra, and im not, since in Singaporean.

Pro : You're stil young, you don't have family to support, youdon't have mortage to pay, I'd say go for it! Most people after they start working realised they should have studied longer. If you're still in your 20s, believe me, you're still young and can still study.

Con : The media industry here doesn't really look at paper qualifications, more on your experience and skill. Even if you study up to Degree level, most people trying to break in the industry will get paid below 2k. Trust me, i know. So in a way on-the-job training will help you better.

My 2 cents worth from a jaded video editor....

hmm... i maybe wanted to go Universiti Technology Mara (UiTM) ... they provide the best broadcasting course in Malaysia... but.. the [roblem is they only take bumiputra.. and with bumiputra .. the fee is only RM350 per/semester, i think UiTM has the most cheapest fees of all Universities in the World...

if i let go my singapore citizenship..i can easily get the bumiputra and enjoy the scheme...but but but... hmmm....

singapore citizenship more worth it....

argh.. headache.

drop ur singapore citizenship?! thats abit rash. i think you should really think it over. there are many ways to get into what to do. nowadays the person with the cert dosent mean he can do much. its just a surface thing. if you really wan to succeed you really got to read up read up and read up.

try lasalle-sia. nafa .

i think worth it if you're malay-malaysian.

la-selle got broadcasting meh? where in singapore provide diploma in broadcasting? other than ngee film-studio-video and the hardtogetin diploma in mass communication?

if you want to drop it,dont go for NS,hahaha, but if you're going for NS,dont drop your sg citizenship, you got lots of privileges when you're travelling overseas,go to the states no need visa n stuff, dont drop the citizenship unless you wanna skip the NS =)

you know boardcasting is a very big element?

you have to learn alot of things. you can look lasalle or nafa courses up. as long as its related you can definately go to boardcasting industry. once you get in then you slowly climb up and do the stuff that you want.

for eg. i aspire to be a arranger, and i take music tech course in lasalle. usually music tech pple will think ur job scope is sound technician but it actually depends. for me i think i need to know more of a technical side to be a better arranger it enable me to use software and other hardware stuff therefore i choose that course.,

so no matter what you chhooose pls do it wisely. don do it bcos you suddenly have the passion for it . make sure you diehard also must succeed .

good luck dude
