Okay, I just limited my selection to just american std strat, YJM strat (CIJ or MIA if it's within budget), CIJ ST57-120 or st54-120 and ESP vintage plus. What do you guys think?

Any idea whether the CIJ strats have bone nuts for their strats?

from your list, the one with the strongest after-market value would be the American Std- if you wish to sell-off your guitar in time to come the YJM has fret peculiarities so it has a niche buyer base. same goes for the ESP; when it comes to Strats, 'Fender' has the strongest pull factor unless the buyer specifically wish for a non-Fender.

Any idea where I can test a Fender american std strat? I read the specs up and it sure is an improvement over the old american strat.

not entirely. the 2008 Am Std reverts to the vintage type string saddles, not saying these are inferior but they tend to move when you whammy + there are chances the action adjustment screws would protrude out to scratch your picking palm...

Thanks for the input. I don't mind vintage style but then the bridge is an innovation with 2 point knife edge like a floyd unlike the 6 point vintage style. I don't usually rest my arm on the tremolo so it's okay unless I do palm muting. Must try it out 1st too. Think my best bet is swee lee.
