Delay pedal recommendation :D

Hi guys, anyone could recommend me a delay pedal that could do delays like this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AEFs7thvx6s

From what i know John uses Lin6 DL4 but then i think it has too many functions, so is there any other cheaper delay pedals that can emulate this kind of delay? Thanks

It sounds to me that he is using a chorus effect instead of a delay. Has that vibrato like sound when you turn up on the speed of the chorus pedal. If you want delays, here's what I recommend,

try out the DD6 or DD7 too! dd3 is a great delay also...

for chorusy sounding delay, look for modulated delay.

It will add that chorusy/vibrato colours to the delay repeats.

hihi, hmm i dont think im looking for a chorus sounding delay cause im getting a chorus too so yeah a normal delay will do My budget is around 200..

the chorusy/vibrato modulated style of delay and a standalone chorus are 2 totally different type of effect, other then the slight shimmering/wavering similarity.

One is totally processing whatever you put into the input, the other is only on the repeats.

none can replace the other

yeah, path bro nailed it.

You could save more and aim for one of the digital delays too. those programmable ones, best ones ive tried would be the TC Nova Delay and DD20.

DL4.. A similar pedal which is a 'simpler' version of it would be the Echo park. Just that without some functions. It has this cool Mod function on it.

And, its within your budget. If you get 2nd hand that is.
