Dehumidifier: Where and How much to buy?

Hi All,
I did some search. The last thread is in yr 2006. So I thought might as well start a new one.
My house is very humid and my sons' drumset is in an open area.
The metal corrode very easily. So I thought to get a DeLonghi dehumidifier.
Besides those major shops like Courts and Best Denki, any other place which can buy such dehumidifier?
better price?

Someone was letting go of a dehumidifier under the classifieds weeks back. Not sure if it's still available or not. Courts always has the 'lowest price in town' advertisements going on right? Why dont you go check it out and compare the prices with Best Denki?

Or else, you could put the drum kit in a room, if possible, and get Thirsty Hippos. I have my kit in my room with a Thirsty Hippo beside the kick drum. Aircon is switched on throughout the night and only one window is left half open in the day. Door not closed. Sure, my kit's chrome parts (lugs, hoops, stands) are slightly cloudy but they can be cleaned with a dry towel and you'll see them shine again. Tension rods are slightly rusty but it can always be replaced.

i don't have the luxury of having a sealed room with air con leh
that's why the drumset is in my living room

DIY shop carry 2 brands...cost about 100 - 200 dollars..

not sure anyone tried before...

Brand is Olee & Maier i think..

Blame Singapore for being so humid! You should check out lester_music's suggestion! Or what you could do is, if you are not in a hurry to get one, keep search around Cash Converters and you might get lucky. No guarantee as to whether they might ever have one though!

If you can, turn on the air-con for a few hours, u can turn it off after that and keep the doors closed. In that way, humidity is kept at a lower level.

$499 for Novita 16L model and $599 for Novita 20L model is not really affordable leh.
btw...for a living room, do we need the 20L model?

Novita is a local brand. Im sure delonghi is more exp. There is the $399 model for Novita. I am looking at that.

Since this type of product is available in Courts, I will check with my regular home appliance shop.
