dd-3 problem...

im able to power up my dd-3 (batteries&power supply) but there no sound effect, what could be wrong??

able to power up, but no sound. My deduction

1) Input problem, signal from geetar is not going into the circuit to be processed
2) Delay circuit problem, signal from geetar able to get pass input stage, but lost halfway at the processing stage and thus unable to get to output stage
3) Output stage, geetar signal able to get into the delay, get processed, but at output stage, something goes wrong and unable to pass signal out to amp
4) Bring to effect tech to further check on it

yup, theres signal going through, my geetar sound still goes through when its on, juz that its "clean" sounding, no delay effect...

Check your adaptor. dd3 requires high current. normal adaptor like boss won't work. my adaptor is 2.5A but 500-800 mA should work 9 (i think). The red light not a bright if too low current. I also used a cheap supermarket adaptor and it worked for me.

If you tried it with (new) battery alone with power unplugged from dd3, then something else wrong.

i got kena before.. i open up, fiddle with the input jack, the power jack and touch around the circuit board to check whats wrong, but when i close it back up to try again, it was working already..

emn...fiddle around with it?? wat did u actually do to it?? mean u remove the whole pcb board from the casing and clean it??had read on forums that some pple faces the same prob. and after doing the same as wat u do, the pedal works again, but its a on off problem...does yours work perfectly after that?

1st:you are not suppose to clean the damn thing
2nd:was there a plastic cover in between the pcb and the back plate that you might have removed?
3rd:did u clean one of the components to much that u might have damaged it?
4th:what are you settings on the geetar/amp cause my dd3s on a crappy pathfinder and a delicious pro junior sounded WAY different.
5th:you are still not suppose to clean the damn thing.

heh, before further damaged done due to no knowing what to do and just open up to clean(clean what?? which part??, soldering tread issues?? etc etc)

bring it to someone who have some idea of tracing/troubleshoot the problem then to diy when not knowing what to do, where to do. Even if diy solve the problem, for a while, there still no idea of what happen.

anyway, forget bout the above, if wanna save some money, travelling time to find the tech. Just open up the thing and clean, clean anything and anywhere and hope that it will work again.

1)The plastic cover is still intact between the back plate when i closed it up.
2)nope, i never clean anything or any of the components at all.
3) settings?? ive maxed out everything on the pedal, engaged it but there's no delay effect, only normal guitar signal sound can be heard.
4) yup i know tat im not suppose to clean the whole damn thing.. :)

i guess could b a loose contat point...?

heh, lets take a step back, relax, breath in, breath out and analysed the thing

the pedal has input, output and the delay circuit.

so as you were saying, you still can hear the clean sound, just not the effect delay sound. So what does this tell us?

That means geetar signal is still going in and coming out to the amp, but just not going to the delay circuit.

with the switching for the pedal, everytime when stepping on the footswitch, its supposed to route your geetar signal from input, to the delay ciruit, get process and pass out to the output.

and since it doesnt, that could mean the geetar signal is just passing directly from input to output. A possible problem would be in the fet switching area.

Of course that just a guess. Ultimately, theres nothing much the forum can do, other than bringing the pedal to effect tech and let them check the thing. Thats if you really wanna find out whats causing it and wanna solve the problem

If not, heh, there will be confusions if the thread proceed

yeah i had that problem..
the on and off thing still works, clean signal still goes through.. but just no delay.. haha i didnt dismantle the whole thing la.. i just open up touch here touch there then can liao, maybe problem with the connection?

thanks for taking time to analyse this..yup guess it could be the fet thingy that u mention, read on boss forums that dd-3 had this problems....thanks for your help :)

classic answer, to solve this problem,
1) smash it on the floor.
2) open it up, do some mindless fiddling with it.
3)pls do this, if all else fails, bring to shop, get it fixed by pro
