there's a guy on soft pmed me when i was looking for a les paul guitar..

so this was what i wanted.he suggested that i deposit 20% of the total cost and he will update me through pic the development of my guitar.and the rest of the payment will b made once guitar is ready

so this was what i wanted.
-custom telecaster
-silverburst with sparkles
-wilkinson bridge
-flamed maple for body and neck
-prs birds inlays
-dimarzio pickups
-and the list goes on..

and he quoted me $700plus!!!!!
i still tink its way tooo cheapp...
so what do our bros think here?
care to help me out?

if its too cheap to be true, then give up the idea.

If its true, then pay the deposit and wait

and its its still too cheap to be true, then theres no point to start the post. And if theres no point to post, then theres no need to say this

and if anyone else say that its too good to be true, thats because you yourself also say its too cheap to be true, and thus, if its really too cheap to be true, again, theres no need to ask for opinions already. Just give up, move on.

Imho, yes its too good to be true. We all wanna cheap stuff(to certain extend). But for something that we love(aka instrument), then just pay for what its worth.

Anyway, some bigshot said years ago... you pay peanuts, you get monkies...

I think if it is manufactured at a place where labour and materials cost is cheap, it is still possible for the manufacturer to earn a very very small margin. Dimarzio tele pickups set would probably 40-50% cheaper at cost price for dealers, same goes for wilkinson bridge (considering during sale periods, retailers can give such discounts). The rest are all raw materials and workmanship. Likely that the price doesn't include shipping and handling costs.

The only weird thing I see is the request for silver burst with sparkles on a flamed maple body.

like u said, "so what do our bros think here? care to help me out?
and that's what seekz did, and u almost replied him like, "who's asking for ur opinion?"

Good Luck on your custom order!

What obzervr said is plausible as well.

I can't wait to see how a silver burst with sparkles on a flamed maple body looks like

I think u shldn't be so harsh on Seekz. He's a nice chap and he's just airing his opinions so i guess u shld just give him some basic respect for that.

Prob he's just hinting that its too gd to be true.
So pls be kind. We're friendly ppl here.

If it didn't involve having silverburst with sparkles and flamed maple body and neck, 700sgd is possible with ordinary colors and tonewoods. I just had a custom esquire made for me for about 750sgd including shipping(a cousin of mine works at fedex and was able to use her discount priviledge to send it over here).

It has Gotoh kluson-type tuners, 2-piece ash body(matched), maple neck with Allparts medium fretwires, Wilkinson tele bridge, Bareknuckle Flat 50's pickup, CTS pots, Fender 3-way switch, and a tele half-pickguard. I had it finished in colored raw wood. So yeah, it's possible with 700sgd but not with those high-end wood and finish features.
