Custom Tone Control (has-sound) Does it make a difference?

Yes, they do.

Question is, what difference do you want?

I have HAS Sound varitones in stock with me, let me know if you interested. You can read up on them on HAS website, and google. Varitones. Makes tone pots boring. :D

haha well shredcow im quite interested in the

ST-1 Harness
This pre-wired harness includes one volume control with treble retainer circuit, one master tone control featuring your choice of tone capacitor, one master Midrange Control, a 5-way pickup switch, output jack and our Zap Trap Circuit. Descriptions of these controls can be found on our home page. Please choose tone control option at right. Descriptions of tones can be found at the bottom of our home page.

as well as the Neck-On Switch

so how much of a difference would it make?

well my guitar is a yamaha pacifica with a pathetic 1tone/1vol so i'd have to get somebody to drill some holes.

Sounds cool. Is it okay to do without a tone pot if i'm not willing to drill additional holes?

I used a Varitone without a tone pot. The Varitone became my "tone pot".

Gets me a host of new tones. :D

drilling holes on he scratch plate is no issue... but whehter they can fit into that damn small cavity.. thats the problem...

i own a pacifica too and i realised the cavity has only space for the tone and vol pots with little for antoher small pot...

but if u want real zhng, i can ask guitar connections to do some woodwork for ya... :)

Well, what kind of difference do YOU want? These upgrades are mere tools to get the tone you want.

Treble retainer circuit = when you roll your vol down, you don't loose highs, in fact, you get spankier tone.

The ST-1 materials are definate upgrades over your stock Pacifica ones, i'm assuming your pacifica is a lower end model.

Neck on, i think you have to refer to strat players, but to my knowledge, its a cool, usable mod. Just swap a pushpull in place of a tone pot.

So you really have to drill only 1 more hole for the midrange control.

Well i definately want the neck on switch.. it sounds pretty awesome..

i guess i'm looking for some real variety in tones... i'm getting bored with my tones from a guitar..

RAWR how much would the woodwork cost?

i'm a student, not a working man :D

Check your cavity size first because jumping the gun on woodwork.

The pots are full size CTS pots, not the smaller MIJ pots.

So open up, check if you have space for 1 more pot.

And check if you have enough depth for a pushpull pot.

Depth of pushpull pots, www.guitarelectronics.com go search.
