Custom guitar bods

Hey guys, this question goes out to all you DIY-ers out there

How many of you actually craft your own bodies rather than work with a pre-existing body.....I'm asking this cos I wanna embark on a DIY project myself but I'm not interested in all the strats and tele bods you usually see on the forum.

I'm looking for more of a super strat kinda body, anyone know where I can find bods like that?

Where do you buy blanks? I am thinking of such a project as well. I have already found myself a wood router. obzervr, did you use a template for the cavity routing?

Yup. I use templates for cavities. This project was sent out to roughcut for shape and it is idling for a long while as I cannot find a suitable neck for it. I had initially ordered 2 pcs of 24 fret neck from Canada and the neck went missing on shipment. Only received a refund for the necks minus s/h (which actually cost more than the 2 necks combined). Now i'll wait till I have time to work on my paddle headstock.

As for blanks, there are some merchants on ebay (under hobbycraft I think) that sells wood blanks (pm them and they might give you a catalogue, mostly from ebay Canada). I quit buying from ebay after my paypal was suspended because they thought I was money laundering as i made payments to a couple of these wood merchants without an invoice (out of ebay deals). Paypal required me to send to them my personal documents for 'verification' which I think is a waste of my time. Now I use merchants with worldpay account.

Dude that body looks awesome, I'm not really looking to craft my own body, but looking more to contract someone to do it for me.....Nothing's final yet I just wanna know the costs....

I had my old custom made by G77 but I don't feel like going back there(ssshhh)
