Cubase5 Variaudio vs auto tune vs Melodyne

I use core 2 duo 3ghz , and 3.25GB of ram how come still lag?
If i don't use variaudio ok , if use already then lag

lou5y : he mentioned core 2 duo 3ghz , and 3.25GB of ram . usually I'd point it at an ASIO soundcard problem but only occurs during variaudio which is weird because on my laptop of 1.66ghz core 2duo and 2gb ram it works fine. the only difference left is the trial one he downloaded from steinberg.

I'd like to solve this problem for the sake of curiosity. not for the sake of someone who can't even be bothered to google or go to product main site for trial demo versions expecting spoonfeedment.
