Which is of better grade?

Crate or yamaha?

My friend said yamaha is better but i went to music plaza and i tried the crate amp that cost $400 with effects in it...quite good but not sure if its reliable.

imo, they are of the same grade

Choose the amp that you like the tone most and serve your needs. Use the amp in normal playing and it will serve you well at least for quite a while.

Why do u want a crate or yamaha amp? If you have $400, you should look at some low-end marshall's, laney's or fenders. Or you could even try get a great second hand amp off luther or something.

^mmhm. I haven't tried a crate, but I've heard it isn't exactly the best amp out there with that price.

hofner, do you mean the Crate GLX15 which costs $498.75? pardon my extensive detail but I am bowled over by that amp. I'm thinking of getting it by mid-next year if they still have it.

It's a killer amp, and its high-end, unlike the low-end Marshalls they have which cost almost twice as much.

yeah and the GLX50

ANother question. Is it true that bulit in pedals are never exactly good as they are just the basic?

Hmm....i thought of Marshall too. I saw this little Marshall at $199 at davis.
I can't do much with my marshall MS4. But well during the black out , i was using it and everyone was like "Where did that come from?"

How much would a mid range marshall amp cost? Are all marshall amps good even if they are on the lower range?

Hi, the 'mid-range' of marshall should be the AVT range, but should be in the mid low range. The low range is very competative pricing. I can get you the MG15CDR at $180 brand new. This is one of the most popular practice amp in the market today. With real spring reverb, is very good value.

I can also check on the 30/50/100Watt model pricing of the same range, which I believe to have digital effects built-in. Really very worth the money. Just sms me at 97337161 if you have tested one and is keen to get one. I can get you at better pricing.

Marshall amps are very subjective. Some people are totally turned off by the dirty marshall tone, but others totally love it. But these days, you are choosing from a whole range of amps. So the choice is yours, plenty to choose, even from one brand.
