Hi all,

I walked into Ranking Sports one day and by chance, picked up a Crafter GAE 6/N (S$460) to try. I was v surprised by the nice tone and good playability of this acoustic guitar.

So i decided to research further on Crafter and finally landed my eyes on their highest end Grand Auditorium Electric model, the GAE 45/N (priced at S$900 at ranking). Its a beautiful guitar with solid engelmann top, tree of life fretboard inlays, golden hardware, LR Baggs pickups, etc...

On harmony central, owners of the GAE 45/N shared their experience. Almost all gave extremely good reviews. Many commented that the guitar is comparable to the Taylor 800+ or 900+ series and Martin, without the heavy price tag. I tried the GAE45/N recently at Ranking, but to my disappointment, the saddle and action were quite high. But overall, the tone was bright and rich, and the projection is good. Great sustain when plugged into an amp.

I wonder if any of the SOFTIEs own Crafter guitars, esp the GAE 45/N? Care to share your experience and other views? Thanks everyone.

So far in Singapore, other than Ranking I am not sure who else brings this in. If the guitar is comparable to the Taylor 800 series, then this price is not expensive... Good workmanship as well

Haha... Dennis my bro. The GAS is strong with you. Honestly I think the Crafter is a decent buy.

Let's go down next week and check it out one more time.

I think the action could probably be adjusted easily enough. Was it really that high up? If it's the saddle that needs to be filed down, then should not really be too much of an issue.

Oh well, let's check it out next week... :P
