Consider urself in this heart-breaking scenario

Imagine urself as a guitarist of a well established band. U just had seen all ur singles finish in the top 10. Fans buy ur albums and it seems that nothing can go wrong..until..

U find urself in a terrible car accident and ur arms somehow had to amputated. U find urself at a loss while lying in the hospital bed. Ur dreams, career all destroyed ..not to mention, u have lost ur ability to play a musical insrument due to no arms.

I know this is indeed a harsh situation but what would u do?

Like to hear ur inputs..

I would use my verbal abilities and have a competent person do the notations for me, then I will direct the musicians by telling them how it should sound.

Music don't stop ... it goes on, although not from my own hands, I still hear the music in my heart and brains in sounds.

n yeah, regarding music, jason becker, who has ALS, says "I have Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease). It has crippled my body and speech, but not my mind".

Donn't forget one of the most influential guitarist, ever, Django Reinhart. he lost 2-3 fingers (can't recall how many) and still managed to come up with some of his best stuff.

In this day and age, it wouldn't be too difficult to have prosthetics that will make life a little bit more bearable especially with digital music technology, literally only a few clicks away.

yeah,easier to compose...but to play live?i believe most of the musician live to play live in front of audience,cant do that using any sort of tech...

I'd rather compose than play live if I had to choose between the two. I figure that I can churn out more songs that way. Although it'll be nice to play live once in a while.

But honestly, given the "no arms" condition, playing live would realistically be out of the equation for the future. And most musicians would seriously consider staying in music if they could and composing would be a good option IMHO.

i also remember reading an interview where becker said he still retained complete sexual function and sensitivity..on top of that his ex girlfriend and current girlfriend are taking care of him... wheres that thumbs up smiley when i need it...

It'd be hardbreaking for a musician to lose his ability to do what he loves... If it were me, i'd move on to something else.. but still have some of the music in me..

I'd put a live grenade in my mouth, so if i spit it out it goes off. I'd pay someone all those royalties to make a big bomb and strap it to me, and then go and find and orhpanage, or say, a baby panda shop, or perhaps a puppy show, and spit. :twisted:

cool.. that minimises the suffering brought about by ALS a lot. but i still wish he can kick ALS in the ass tho n come back shredding tho.
