Sounds like a wise decision! Continue with your work. Don't stop taking lessons on your instrument. But most importantly, grow to enjoy it. Don't cut yourself off from your friends.

Actually, you mentioned taking up composition as well. Looks like you've got quite a few interest up your sleeve! No problem! One thing about composition is "experiences". Despite what another thread was discussing about compositions being non-original nowadays, I actually believe strongly that what we experience in life and around us heavily influence our compositions. That include the joy, the pain, who we met, what we went through - all somehow relects in what we write in music. You mentioned you seldom met with your friends lately. That sounded like cutting yourself off which is actually not too good for composition.

Well, thanks for sharing with us your thoughts. It takes courage to post this here. I'm sure it will help many others who are also on the crossroads.

how to interact with people and yet learn at the same time? jam with them!!!

just chill.. take things one by one or you'll end up like me..... 12 mths ago i took up tennis and guitar, 7 months ago i took up golf and drums, 2 months ago i took up skating and bass... and i tell you.. my life's screwed.

i'm definately better & more relax now. I ask my friend out too. phew! actually, i'm not so tense now. yes, this is exp hobby but i discliplined not to spend on unnecessary stuff. still can manage 3 meals a day.

i used to join my school harmonica band, choir, guides, prefect and service club. my weekdays and weekends was pretty pack then. so i think i kinda used to learning as many things at one time. but i forget that i need lots of time to practise. don't worry, u won't see me at imh. hope not too. yah, cheez, if u see this note, thanks. i like to pet my feelings, relationships and things i see, that's something i really enjoy and hope to make it in composition. thks!
