*SCAPE Confessions - The Marilyns Album Launch
17 Oct 2009
7.30pm onwards
*SCAPE Youth Centre: The Lab
$15 (includes album)
Purchase at the door
The show also features special guests like
Freaky Z, The Groovies and My Writes.
Drawing their inspiration from a variety of music genres from the 70’s to the 90’s, The Marilyns play an alternative blend of pop, dance and indie rock music. What is unique about them is perhaps their repertoire of both Malay and English songs and their bilingual songwriting.
Their latest album to date is POP.SG, aptly called as every song tells a story about life in Singapore, from social issues, to love and struggles in life. It has not been smooth sailing trying to create a Singaporean pop album as the band tries not to sound too ‘singlish’ nor too ‘ang moh’. Listen to their sounds at www.myspace.com/marilynstheband.
