Computer sounds spacey...

sorry not sure if this would be the appropriate place for "pls help!" posts, but suddenly my computer sounds totally spacey/echoey/too distrubingly stereo with lots of uncalled for reverbs. it sounds the same for everything (all mp3s and random "beeps"). i've tried to change the general sound settings but found out there isn't much too tweak there...

also it sounds like that even when i put on headphones/earphones! does anyone know what the problem may be? please chip in if you do ): i'm quite disturbed by this. thanks!

btw could it be because of the computer itself? like the headphone jack becoming messed up since we're always changing from speakers to earphones etc. i'm using a Dell inspiron 530s btw.. thanks!

if you're using SoundMax or Realtek or whatever audio card that comes with its own stupid audio playbacksoftwares control panel to enable "REVERB" or "STEREO WIDENING", you can disable from there. usually found inside "CONTROL PANEL"

sorry my this pc don't have that "special" software so i can't do any screen captures to demonstrate.

what soundcard are you using? if you're using creative, there's usually a diagnostics panel or whatever, where you can re-install the default files.

Thanks Heaps!

hey thanks So much for the advice! ya i'm using Realtek and when i checkd someone tweaked it so that everything sounds as they would in the shower (apparently). thanks because i was nearly going nuts!

odd that they have such controls though :S
