Hi,
Would appreciate if anyone of you guitar loving brothers out there could offer some comment on the Timothy S7 or S10J models. Understand these 2 Singapore made models are suitable for our kind of climate and humidity as compared to the imported guitars. Read from forum that the playability and sound quality of these 2 models can even beat guitars twice its price or even better sounding than the Taylor 2 and 3 series models.. Had tried the S10J as the S7 was out of stock. I thought the playability and action was quite good. I am looking for a durable quality guitar with good playability, low action, good tone and base. Not sure whether the price tag of 1.5k is a little too high for the S10J as compared to the Martin D15 series which is in the the same price zone. Would appreciate your expert advice and feedback brothers..

Thanx

go try it for yourself. singapore is a pretty small place. id say they r good guitars having tried them both but then its a matter of preference.

They are made in vietnam by Ayers guitars. And dun believe those nonsense about made here or made there more suitable in local climate. The fact is all tone woods are dried before making guitars. So it is inevitable that damage will be done on guitars in singapore as the relative humidity is around 70-100%.

It doesnt matter where ur guitar is made. Its how u take care of them. I have a dehumidifier that i bought just for my guitars.

I would say the s10 is the one to consider. Not the s7 though. i didnt like the s7. The s10 used to be 1200 bucks only if i remembered correctly. Now forking out 1500 abit not worth it. I dun hear any sonic improvement too and the finish is satin compared to gloss ones last time. Its just cost cutting. To me it does beat those low end taylors..

Scram infidels!

Tried the S10j. I liked it, it has the expensive guitar sound... i dunno how to describe haha... warmer sound ba. A bit on the bassy side the overall tone. But then it's 1500 with pickup. Cheaper than taylors and martins, but then, it's not a taylor or martin so the resale value is low.
I'm looking for a OM/OOO shaped body so although I liked the S10J, I'll probably pass.
